PMDC Portal Problems: Stuck in Pending, Payment Not Showing, No Objection Notification (2026 Fix Guide)

The PMDC online portal fails for an estimated 1 in 4 MDCAT applicants every cycle. The most common failure modes are payment not appearing, status stuck on “Pending” for weeks, and applications rejected without any objection notification. There are working fixes — they just are not documented anywhere official.
- Reported failure rate — ~25% of 180,000 applicants per cycle (r/Pakistan analysis 2024–2025)
- Average resolution time via helpline — 11 working days (PMDC internal)
- Average resolution time via in-person visit — 1–3 working days
- PMDC helpline — +92 51 9211091 (Islamabad HQ)
Sources: PMDC public helpline, applicant survey aggregation (r/Pakistan 2024–2025), PMDC complaint registry.
If you are reading this, the PMDC portal has probably already failed you. The good news: most failures are solvable. The bad news: PMDC's official documentation does not tell you how. Below is the practical guide we wish we had read before MDCAT 2024.
Failure #1 — Payment Deducted, Portal Shows “Unpaid”
The most common complaint. Your JazzCash / Easypaisa / bank transfer has debited but the portal continues to mark you as unpaid.
- Wait 4 working hours before panicking — bank-to-PMDC reconciliation runs in batches.
- If still unpaid after 24 hours, screenshot the transaction receipt and email info@pmdc.pk with subject “Payment Reconciliation — Tracking ID [your ID]”.
- Same day, WhatsApp the same screenshot to PMDC's helpline number (+92 51 9211091). Voice helpline waits are 20–30 minutes; WhatsApp is faster.
- If still unresolved at the 72-hour mark, request a Bank Statement Certificate from your bank and visit PMDC's Islamabad HQ helpdesk in person — resolution typically same-day.
Failure #2 — Application Stuck on “Pending”
Status has not changed in 2+ weeks despite registration window closing.
- Confirm all uploads passed validation: FSc transcript (under 4MB, PDF), Matric transcript, CNIC/B-Form, photograph (300×300, <200KB).
- Verify the email tied to your account — PMDC objections are emailed silently and rarely surface as portal notifications.
- Check spam/promotions folders for “@pmdc.pk” senders for the last 30 days.
- If clean, send a follow-up email to complaints@pmdc.pk with your tracking ID and a screenshot of the “Pending” screen. CC the helpline WhatsApp.
Failure #3 — Application Rejected, No Reason Given
Status flipped to “Rejected” but the portal shows no objection text.
- The reason is almost always one of: (a) FSc percentage below 65% (new 2026 minimum — see our eligibility guide); (b) CNIC mismatch with FSc board; (c) photograph below resolution; (d) FSc transcript not yet uploaded by the relevant board to IBCC.
- File a written objection-rebuttal at the Islamabad HQ helpdesk (forms available at the counter). Verbal calls rarely resolve rejections.
- For FSc-percentage rejections, see our FSc improvement guide.
Failure #4 — Cannot Log In / Password Reset Loop
Password reset emails never arrive, or the reset link expires before you can click it.
- Add “@pmdc.pk” to your email contacts before requesting the reset. The reset link is single-use and expires after 30 minutes.
- Try a different browser (the portal misbehaves on older Chrome on Android — use Firefox or desktop).
- If the loop persists, request a manual reset via WhatsApp helpline; provide your CNIC and tracking ID.
Failure #5 — Roll Number Slip Not Generated
Application is approved, payment is confirmed, but the roll number slip will not download.
- Roll number slips typically open 7–10 days before the test (not immediately on approval). Do not panic in August.
- If the slip is missing 5 days before the test date, escalate via WhatsApp + email simultaneously — PMDC processes test-eve slips manually.
- Keep your tracking ID and CNIC handy for centre-day check-in if the slip is delayed.
When to Visit PMDC HQ in Person
The Islamabad helpdesk at PMDC HQ (Mauve Area, G-10/4) is consistently more effective than the helpline. Bring:
- Original CNIC + photocopy
- FSc and Matric attested transcripts
- Payment receipt + bank statement (if payment is the issue)
- Print-out of every email exchange to date
- Your tracking ID written down separately
Same-day resolution is the norm. For students outside Islamabad/Rawalpindi, a single day-trip is almost always cheaper than two weeks of unresolved helpline calls.
FAQ
Q: Is there an alternative to the PMDC portal?
No. PMDC has sole authority for MDCAT registration. Conducting bodies (UHS, NUMS, ETEA) use separate portals only for their own merit lists, not MDCAT itself.
Q: My objection was rejected. Can I appeal?
Yes — file a written appeal at the HQ helpdesk within 7 working days. Beyond that, the only remedy is a writ petition (rare and slow).
Q: What if PMDC misses the registration deadline themselves?
If PMDC's system outage caused the miss, document timestamps via screenshots and email complaints@pmdc.pk. Past cycles have shown PMDC extends deadlines retroactively in widespread outages.
Q: Are there third-party services that handle PMDC paperwork?
Avoid them. PMDC requires the applicant's direct submission for security purposes, and third-party submissions are routinely rejected.
The PMDC portal is improving year-on-year but remains the highest-friction step in your MDCAT journey. Plan your registration for the first week of the window — our registration timeline shows why timing matters. And keep this guide bookmarked.
