Based on the official UHS final open-merit selection list (Punjab public colleges, most recent cycle). Closing merit shifts year to year, so treat this as guidance, not a guarantee — and always confirm against the official UHS list. NUMS, Sindh and KPK (ETEA) run separate admissions. See the full Punjab closing-merit breakdown.

This calculator uses the standard weightage formula. Values may slightly vary based on specific university policies or provincial adjustments.

The PMDC MDCAT aggregate formula is 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT, capped at 100%. This single formula governs MBBS and BDS merit calculations across all public sector medical colleges in Pakistan (Source: PMDC admission policy, 2024).

  • Matric weightage: 10% of obtained percentage.
  • FSc / Intermediate weightage: 40% of obtained percentage.
  • MDCAT weightage: 50% of obtained percentage (out of 180 in 2026).
  • NUMS, FMDC and AKU apply different weightings — see FAQ below.
  • Final closing merit for top Punjab public colleges ranged ~91.4–93.7%; KEMU closed at 93.67% (Source: UHS final open-merit selection list).

Aggregate Calculator — FAQ

What is the standard MDCAT aggregate formula?

PMDC's official aggregate formula is 10% Matriculation + 40% FSc/Intermediate + 50% MDCAT. This applies across all public and private MBBS/BDS admissions in Pakistan unless a university notifies an exception (Source: PMDC admission policy, 2024).

Does NUMS use the same aggregate formula?

No. NUMS uses 50% FSc + 50% NUMS entry test for AFMC and CMH-affiliated colleges. Matric is not weighted. NUMS publishes its own merit list separate from PMDC (Source: NUMS prospectus, 2025).

What aggregate is needed for government medical colleges?

Closing merit at top public colleges like King Edward Medical University and Allama Iqbal Medical College has historically ranged from 91% to 93% aggregate. Provincial and self-finance seats typically close 2–4 points lower (Source: UHS merit lists, 2023–2024).

How does FMDC calculate aggregate?

Federal Medical & Dental College (FMDC) uses 50% FSc + 50% MDCAT, dropping the Matric weight entirely. Closing aggregate for FMDC has been around 89–92% in recent years (Source: FMDC admission notification, 2024).

What is the maximum MDCAT marks total?

MDCAT 2026 is marked out of 180 (1 mark per MCQ, no negative marking). Earlier UHS-conducted MDCATs (2008–2019) used a 1100-mark scale. Premeth's calculator handles both — just enter your obtained and total marks.

How accurate is this calculator?

Premeth's calculator applies the exact PMDC weighting (10/40/50) to four decimal places. Results match official UHS and PMDC merit-list calculations. Provincial quotas and university-specific bonuses (e.g. Hifz-e-Quran) are not auto-applied.

How the MDCAT Aggregate Is Calculated (PMDC 10/40/50)

Almost every public-sector medical college in Pakistan — under UHS Punjab, NUMS, SZABMU, DUHS, KMU and FMDC — ranks MBBS and BDS applicants using the official PMDC weighting: 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT. Your aggregate is the single number that decides which colleges you qualify for, so it matters far more than any individual exam score on its own.

PMDC Aggregate Formula

Aggregate % = (Matric % × 0.10) + (FSc % × 0.40) + (MDCAT % × 0.50)

Worked Example

Say you scored 1000/1100 in Matric (90.9%), 950/1100 in FSc (86.4%) and 150/180 in MDCAT (83.3%). Your aggregate is (90.9 × 0.10) + (86.4 × 0.40) + (83.3 × 0.50) = 9.09 + 34.56 + 41.67 = 85.3%. Enter your real marks in the calculator above for an exact figure.

What Aggregate Do You Need?

Public-sector MBBS typically closes between roughly 86% and 92% depending on province and college, with BDS a few points lower. Compare against last year's closing merits and browse eligible colleges in the medical colleges directory. Once you have a target, raise your MDCAT score with free MDCAT MCQs and past papers (2008–2025).

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the MDCAT aggregate calculated in 2026?

Most public medical colleges in Pakistan weight MDCAT 50%, FSc 40% and Matric 10%. This calculator applies the official PMDC formula automatically.

Does the calculator work for UHS, NUMS, SZABMU and FMDC?

Yes — the 10/40/50 formula is the standard for UHS Punjab, NUMS, SZABMU, DUHS, KMU and FMDC. Some private universities use different weightings, and NUMS uses a 50/50 FSc-plus-test formula (see the NUMS calculator).

What total marks should I enter for MDCAT?

MDCAT 2026 is out of 180 marks (180 MCQs, 1 mark each). Enter your obtained marks against a total of 180. Older PMC-era papers (pre-2024) used 200 — the total field is editable.

Is the Premeth aggregate calculator free?

Yes — completely free, no signup required, and no ads.
