Punjab Medical Colleges Closing Merit: Official UHS Final Aggregates (2026 Benchmark)

Your MDCAT score alone does not get you a seat — admission is decided by your aggregate and how it compares to each college's closing merit (the aggregate of the last candidate admitted on the final selection list). Below are the official final closing merits for Punjab's top public medical colleges, read directly from the University of Health Sciences (UHS) final open-merit selection list. Use them as your benchmark for 2026.
Why the FINAL list matters: UHS issues many selection lists, and merit drops with each one as top-scorers settle and seats cascade down. A college's first list might close near 96%, but the final list — after every upgradation round — is the real cutoff. Quoting a first-list number would badly overstate what you actually need. The figures below are the final open-merit closes (Punjab/UHS, most recent completed cycle).

What These Numbers Tell You
- Top of the table: KEMU closed highest at 93.67%, followed by AIMC (92.92%) and SIMS (92.36%) — the most competitive public seats in Punjab.
- The realistic target: the lowest final close among these 15 colleges was ~91.13% (D.G. Khan). So ~91%+ is the working target for a Punjab public MBBS seat on open merit; the newest college (Narowal, first batch 2024) has no prior-cycle history yet.
- The spread is tight: all 15 sit within ~2.5 points (91.13–93.67%), so half a percent of aggregate can shift you across several colleges — every MDCAT mark counts.
How to Use This for 2026
First, work out your own aggregate using the official 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT formula with our MDCAT Aggregate Calculator — it also predicts which of these colleges you can target. Closing merit shifts year to year with applicant numbers and paper difficulty, so treat these figures as a guide, not a guarantee. Important Caveats
- These are final open-merit closes. Earlier selection lists close higher; reserved categories (under-developed districts, disability, overseas) close differently.
- This is the Punjab / UHS list only. NUMS, Sindh (Sindh MDCAT) and KPK (ETEA) run separate admissions with their own merit lists.
- Closing merit moves year to year. Always confirm against the current official UHS list before making decisions.
