Your MDCAT score alone does not get you a seat — admission is decided by your aggregate and how it compares to each college's closing merit (the aggregate of the last candidate admitted on the final selection list). Below are the official final closing merits for all 15 Punjab public medical colleges, read directly from the University of Health Sciences (UHS) final open-merit selection list — shown for both the latest 2025-26 cycle and the prior 2024 cycle so you can see the trend. Use the 2025-26 figures as your benchmark for 2026.

What These Numbers Tell You

• Merit went UP across the board: every Punjab public college closed ~1.2 to 2.5 points higher in 2025-26 than in 2024. KEMU rose 93.67% → 94.87%, AIMC 92.92% → 94.45%, FJMU jumped the most (+2.24, 91.57% → 93.81%). If you are benchmarking off old 2024 numbers, you are aiming too low.
• Top of the table (2025-26): KEMU closed highest at 94.87%, then AIMC (94.45%) and SIMS (94.23%) — the most competitive public seats in Punjab.
• The realistic target: the lowest final close among these 15 colleges was 93.53% (D.G. Khan) in 2025-26. So ~93.5%+ is now the working target for a Punjab public MBBS seat on open merit — up from ~91% a year earlier.
• The spread is razor-tight: all 15 sit within ~1.3 points (93.53–94.87%), so a tenth of a percent of aggregate can shift you across several colleges — every single MDCAT mark counts.

• These are final open-merit closes. Earlier selection lists close higher; reserved categories (under-developed districts, disability, overseas) close differently.
• This is the Punjab / UHS list only. NUMS, Sindh (Sindh MDCAT) and KPK (ETEA) run separate admissions with their own merit lists.
