After the result, many students feel their score is lower than expected. The immediate thought is "re-checking". But wait.

What Re-totaling Actually Means

It is NOT re-marking. The examiner will NOT read your paper again. They will only check:

  1. If any question was left unchecked.
  2. If the total sum of marks is correct.
  3. If the bubble sheet was scanned correctly (for MCQs).

Success Rate

Historically, the success rate of re-totaling in MDCAT is less than 1%. Since it is a computerized test, calculation errors are extremely rare.

Advice:

Only apply if you have a discrepancy of more than 10 marks between your key calculation and official result.
