Time Management Hacks for Key Exams

The MDCAT is a race against the clock. With less than a minute per MCQ, efficiency is key. Here is how to optimize your speed.

The Round System

Never attempt the paper linearly from Q1 to Q200. Use the round system:

• Round 1 (Fast & Easy): Go through the entire paper. Solve only the questions you know instantly (within 10-15 seconds). Skip anything that requires calculation or thought.
• Round 2 (Calculation/Thought): Return to the skipped questions. Solve the ones that require formulas or logic.
• Round 3 (Difficult/Unknown): Use the remaining time for the hardest questions. Use elimination tactics here.

Bubble Filling Strategy

Do NOT fill bubbles after every single question. It breaks your flow. Instead, solve a page or a section (e.g., 10 questions), then fill the bubbles for that set together. This saves significant transition time.
