The 3 Steps
- Step 1 — basic sciences; pass/fail since 2022

- Step 3 — usually after residency starts
IMG Pathway
- ECFMG certification: pass Step 1 + 2 CK + verify credentials
- Apply to residency via NRMP/ERAS
- Match day: third Friday of March
